join walk for wellbeing 2023.

It’s that time of year again: Walk for Wellbeing is here! Fancy a chance to meet up with hundreds of industry friends, old and new, while raising money for a great cause? It’s not too late to get involved…

Join Walk for Wellbeing from Saturday 30 September until Sunday 15 October 2023. Launched by mum founder Craig back in 2020, the aim of this nationwide event is to promote better mental health and wellbeing in the hospitality industry. Now in its fourth year, so far we’ve raised over £120,000 in support of Hospitality Action.

As many of you will know first-hand, the past few years have been tough for hospitality. Though Hospitality Action has been supporting the industry since 1837, since the start of 2020 they’ve helped more people than ever – answering 26,809 helpline calls and delivering 6,753 face-to-face and over-the-phone counselling sessions. But there’s still so much more to do.

Right now, over half of those contacting Hospitality Action for support directly reference mental health issues. The overwhelming majority are also struggling with household debts, with many facing the threat of court action or eviction. Nearly half are working in front-facing roles, including bar staff, waiting teams and baristas – they could be your peers, your colleagues, your friends.

You can do something to help. Taking place two days before World Mental Health Day 2023, join one of five 20km walks being hosted around the UK on Sunday 8 October – just click on the links to sign up:

  • London hosted by mum and friends

  • Birmingham hosted by Tonic Talent

  • Manchester hosted by The Manchester Hoteliers Association

  • Glasgow hosted by Davidson Asset Management

  • Bath/Bristol hosted by The Bath Hoteliers Association and The Bristol Hoteliers Association

Got plans? No problem. Why not Walk It Your Way anytime, anywhere, between Saturday 30 September and Sunday 15 October?

You don’t even have to walk to help out: if you can afford to give anything (even the price of a coffee!) to help those in need, you can rest assured it’ll be put to good use. Donate to Hospitality Action now.

Already signed up for the London event? Let us know! We’d love to catch up.
